The laboratory comprises 26% of the final course grade. A passing grade in the laboratory, defined as 70%, is required to pass the course. Attendance at every laboratory is required. Excused absenses will be permitted only with advance notice and approval by the lab TA . Absences may also be approved in the event of an unforseen emergency, subject to approval. Arrangements must be made with the TA to make up any missed laboratory. You must complete or make up each laboratory for a grade in the course.

The recitations meet every Tuesday and Thursday in room 306. Quizzes may be given during the recitations, so attendance is expected. Any quiz scores are included as part of the lab grade.

Please read the schedule carefully since the laboratory does not meet every day. The laboratory will be in room 510 or 508 as indicated, depending on the experiment.

Aug. 5, 7 Recitation Only No Recitation or Lab

Any requests to use previous lab credit for this course must be received via e-mail or in writing by Dr. Yost no later than Friday, June 7. The request must identify your previous lab TA. Students should attend any laboratories until approval is received, in case it is denied. Approval will depend on a high grade in the laboratory, verified with the previous TA. Scores below 80% generally will not be accepted. If you cannot identify your previous TA, or the TA cannot provide your score, the request will be denied. Students who are excused from the laboratory still must attend the recitations.
