Who's responsible? ===================== alt.fan.serdar-argic was created by Joel Furrian (jfurr@nyx.cs.du.edu) [whose criminal Armenian grandparents ...], and Ahmet Cosar rmgroup'd it, which caused Bruce Becker to renewgroup it. This FAQ file was created by Warren Bursteinakos (warren@nysernet.org) [who was high on ASALA/SPDA/ARF when he wrote the following crap] A variety of people ['criminal/crook Armenians of ASALA/SDPA/ARF'] have contributed, but wish to remain anonymous [Scared?]. 1. What's this all about then? ============================== Serdar Argic is the name that appears on countless posts. These posts contend that the Armenians committed genocide against the Turks, and other ravings about Greece, Macedonia, Cyprus, Bosnia, x-soviet Armenia, and so on. 1a. But that's backwards! ========================= Try telling him about that. We dare you. 2. So who is this guy? ====================== 2.1 Hasan B. Mutlu ------------------ Some time ago, these posts came from Hasan B-) Mutlu. At first the postings came from his account at AT&T, where he worked at the time. AT&T got complaints about this, so he started to post using the Berkeley mail to Usenet gateway under the name han@sarp.aic.com (hasan.b.mutlu) There was a real company called aic.com (neither WHOIS nor DNS knows about them anymore) whose posting to soc.culture.turkish denying any responsibility for Mutlu resulted in Article 1 in the appendix. After this episode, he vanished from the net for three or four months, after which he came back at han@anatolia.michigan.com. Anatolia is Ahmet Cosar's home PC, and was connected to the net via John Palmer's CAT-TALK system. After CAT-TALK went bust, he appeared as hbm@ddsw1.UUCP, later changed to hbm@ddsw1.mcs.com. ddsw1 is a public access Usenet site run by Karl Denninger. Then, one day, someone scanned in a picture of Mutlu. (This picture is available, see Archives, below.) A forged posting to alt.binaries.pictures.erotic invited people to upload X-rated GIFs to the site containing the Mutlu picutre. Karl Denninger investigated, and Cosar lost his feed at mcs.com. Cosar's apology is found in Article 2 in the Appendix. The address han@anadolu.michigan.com has also been used, but I don't know how that fits in with the above chronology. I have postings of his from there in August 1992. A library search turned up: James K. Pratt, Hasan Mutlu, et al., "Photoreceptor Optimization via Taguchi Methods," SAE Paper #87-0276, 1987. The paper said that he then worked at at ITT Statistical Programs Group, Farmington Hills, MI (a suburb of Detroit). I received a rumor that Hasan Mutlu is currently in Hilversum. A correspondent from there confirmed that he still works for AT&T, and located his office number and phone. He called the phone number and Mutlu answered. This information is deliberately not supplied here, but I am keeping it on file. I may call him sometime myself ... 2.2 Serdar Argic. ----------------- After the GIF incident, Mutlu disappeared from the net, and Serdar Argic appeared on Ahmet Cosar's anatolia machine, now connected to mn.org. mn.org got mail-bombed and terminated anatolia's feed. These days these posts come from sera@zuma.UUCP (Serdar Argic). zuma gets its news feed from anatolia.org, the system administrator there is Ahmet Cosar. Some people have suggested that Cosar is the person behind all of this. We do have a GIF of Hasan B. Mutlu (nysernet.org:~ftp/mutlu/gif/mutlu.gif) which seems to be scanned from some techincal digest, and there is a text fragment below the picture, saying: Hasan B. Mutlu, a member of the technical staff in the Computing Technology Department at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Napervile, Ill- There also is someone named Nejat who sometimes gets credit, e.g. in <9208131842.A4921VH@anadolu.michigan.com> It is time to wash out your mouth with soap. As usual, thanks go to Nejat. Nejat (KELLY@SUVM.SYR.EDU) is a distinct person with a different agenda, clearly not part of the Mutlu-Argic entity. He posts long rants about Islam in both English and Turkish, and has no particular obsession about Greeks and Armenians. He doesn't get into protracted arguments or endless repeats. There seems to be a new trend in alt.tasteless to forge Serdar Argic articles. 2.2.1 Cigar Raders ------------------ I have been asked who this person is. Well the name is an anagram of Serdar Argic. The articles (which sometime come from Serdar_-_Argic, too) carry the real email address of the poster. They usually appear in alt.folklore.urban when someone argues about religion there. But it can happen anywhere on the net, generally is done to express derision for what it's following up. There's also a Cigra Raders who posts from netcom.com. 2.3 Suha Artun -------------- In February 1994 a new name appeared, Suha Artun. The Path on these areticles goes uunet!anatolia!23-nisan!suha, just like Argi's Path is uunet!anatolia!zuma!sera, so we are dealing with the same people. Suha's address is claimed to be suha@23-nisan.UUCP, just as unreplyable as Argic. 2.4 Ahmet Cosar --------------- An anonymous correspondent writes: First, who is sera@zuma.org? He posts the same material as both Hasan B. Mutlu and Ahmet Cosar once did. But these are two different people! Mutlu is/was an AT&T employee at Bell Labs in (?) Naperville, while Ahmet Cosar is/was a student at the University of Minnesota. There is every reason to believe that both of these people are real. However, where zuma goes, Ahmet Cosar goes. The ONLY link between zuma and the net is zuma!anatolia!uunet. Until six months ago, the ONLY link was zuma!anatolia!mn.org. mn.org threw anatolia out and shortly afterward it hooked up with uunet. And who is in charge of anatolia? Here is information from rs.internic.net: Ahmet Cosar (ANATOLIA-DOM) 1530 S. 6th St. Suite C705 Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55454 Domain Name: ANATOLIA.ORG Administrative Contact, Technical Contact, Zone Contact: Cosar, Ahmet (AC234) cosar@ANATOLIA.ORG 612-376-7873 And here is what "finger cosar@umn.edu" gets you: name: Ahmet Cosar-1 info: Last registered 1993 Winter Qtr Internet mailbox: cosa0001@student.tc.umn.edu other mailbox: PROFS: COSA0001@UMNTCML postal address: 1530 So 6th St Apt C705 Minneapolis MN 55454 surname: Cosar telephone: +1 612-376-7873 title: Grad userid: cosa0001 X.400 mailbox: /G=Ahmet/S=Cosar-1/OU=mail/O=tc/PRMD=umn.edu/ADMD= /C=us/ Given that all traffic from zuma and no other known traffic passes through anatolia, and that Ahmet Cosar refuses to respond to inquires, I think that he is definitely responsible for Serdar Argic's postings, until we find out who Argic is. It doesn't matter whether or not Argic == Cosar. Unlike mn.org, uunet claims that it has no latitude to refuse service to Argic based on his behavior to date. Cosar is also reported to have sometimes posted under the names Coras or Koras, which maybe are supposed to sound Greek (but maybe these are forgeries) and has posted information about Turkish fonts. He also is in charge of the poetry section of the soc.culture.turkish FAQ. David Greenbaum gave me the following information in January 1994. (some of which I have edited), obtained by calling Cosar at the Minnesota Daily (Cosar's work phone number intentionally does not appear here). Cosar is no longer registered as a student, nor does he show up at his office, so the phone number above doesn't reach anyone. Cosar now works for for the Minnesota Daily, maintaining their computer systems. The address he uses these says is cosar@ulysses.cs.umn.edu, a machine for grad students. Cosar is a fervent Turkish Nationalist and a supporter of Hamas, which he claimed to me over the phone was a defense organisation created to keep the Israelis from genociding the Palestinians. He is a rabid anti-semite as well, cursing out the Jewish people in the media who "hide from the world the atrocious acts of the Zionists and Communists in arousing anger in the muslim world." [This surprizes me, since one of Argic's themes is how the Armenians were allied with the Nazis, and the Turks have always been good to the Jews. - wb] He is extremely protective of "Serdar Argic," who apparently is so intolerant of criticism that Ahmet Cosar must accept all of the hate-mail and harassment in lieu. As well, Cosar mentioned Mr. "Hasan Mutlu," who apparently in Cosar's words, "returned to his homeland to fight for right." Mr. Cosar expressed anger that the "genocide" didn't get coverage in newspapers, and that is why he does what he does on USENET. His UUnet feed is anatolia.org, but the posts still read zuma.uucp, apparently to prevent interference with his use by UUnet. In my opinion, it is virtually certain that Cosar *is* Mutlu and Argic, and that he is alone in his "Kampf." He did not mention any supporting organizations or confederates, and all the people I spoke to while trying to track down Mr. Cosar described him as a severely withdrawn and private individual. It is very possible that he composes all of the posts that are done to the UseNet by Argic, and that he finished writing them long ago. 2.5 David Davidian ------------------ Argic's other half, an Armenian-American who runs an insignificantly tiny political party called the SDPA (see below, "What's the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism Triangle?"). He spends most of his time countering Argic's posts and attempting to prove that Argic is paid by the Turkish government. He posts only slightly less than Argic to soc.culture.turkish, but has a lower profile elsewhere because he crossposts less. Before the Armenia-Azerbaijan war broke out he sometimes showed signs of having a sense of proportion: now, forget it. There is a traditional Turkish shadow play in which two characters, Karagoz and Hacivat, conduct an endless series of arguments and fights that never comes to a conclusion (sorta like Tweety and Syvester); some Turkish netters have noted a parallel here ... In February 1994, almost as if Suha Artun's creation required balance, soc.culture.jewish started to get articles from "Sdver@Khavarum.org" (mail to there, bounces, too), with a Path of (no idea how much of this is bogus) uunet!yeshua.marcam.com!news.kei.com!eff!usenet.ins.cwru.edu!gatech! swrinde!elroy.jpl.nasa.gov!decwrl!rtech!oak!dzidzernagapbertd!Khavarum!Sdver Sdver is posting articles from 1919 about Armenians massacring Turks. Sdver's Organization: is Hokineru Tsainer, Argic is following him up claiming his article said "Organization: St. Andrew Armenian Church, Cupertino, CA" with a diatribe against the Armenian Church. 2.6 Is he a person or an AI? ---------------------------- It has been suggested that there is really no person behind this, rather an AI program greps selected newsgroups for words like Turkey and composes responses. The relevence of the responses varies. Of particular hilarity is the followup (nearly a year old now, and still gets reposted) to Ken Arromdee's signature: "On the first day after Christmas my truelove served to me...Leftover Turkey! A post I saw on the net suggests that the AI (or its operators) might notice if a given name, subject, or organization appears often enough, the AI is reprogrammed to give a personalized reply. The cited example was the poster whose organization was listed as "St Andrew Armenian Church, Cupertino, CA" and first appeared several months back. At first, the standard zumabot reply was generated for all of St Andrew's postings. However, after about 1 to 2 weeks, a personalized "tell it to your papp(whatever) effendi of the criminal armenian church)" first appeared. Now, the criminal armenian church has become a rallying cry by the zumabot. This represents a good example of an automated "listen, reply, alert a human at some threshold of response to modify reply" behaviour in the automated script. Another possibility is that there is a group of people writing these articles, some of whom are more coherent than others. It is rumored that this group refers to itself as "The Young Turks". Some people have suggested that the postings on Greece differ in style from those on Armenia. It appears that he does not search alt.folklore.urban (or at least hasn't in the past) since mentions of Turkey there don't get responses, while if they are cross-posted to soc.culture.turkish they do. A very interesting name appears in "The Secrets of Agent", (Computer Science Syllabus, v. 6, March/April 1993, p. 2-5): Serdar Uckun, at Stanford's Knowledge Systems Laboratory, hesitates to say whether these autonomous agents already exist as such, or even to provide them with a specific definition. 3. Where does he post? ====================== alt.activism.d alt.censorship alt.conspiracy alt.folklore.urban alt.news-media alt.revisionism misc.headlines news.groups news.admin.policy sci.skeptic soc.culture.nearly.everywhere soc.history soc.rights.human talk.politics.mideast talk.politics.misc talk.politics.soviet He sets followups to soc.culture.turkish 4. Why does he mangle people's names and/or put them in quotes? =============================================================== Sometimes changes people's names so that they look like Armenian names. Phill Hallam-Baker -> Hallamian Ken Arromdee -> Arromdian He has also decided that Ted Frank is Armenian (as far as I know, he isn't). A reader who wishes to remain anonymous ("I already get enough mailing lists", he says) suggests that Edward Wiener is transformed into Wieneramus to suggest "ignoramus". Here are some other name changes. Panos Tamamidis -> tamtam Michael Polymenakos -> Pol* Brian Troxell -> Tro* (Tro was a famous Armenian general.) Nick_Gavrielatos -> Gav*0 (I have been told that in Russian "gavno" means "shit") David Morning -> Mid-morning Express (this one actually displays some wit), Morning the porn-peddler Mutlu started the quotes after some people started putting *his* name in quotes on the assumption that he was an AI rather than a person. Argic has continued the practice. 4a. What is a 'greasy palikarya' or a 'tamtam'? ----------------------------------------------- "Pallikari" , plural = "Pallikarya". is a Greek word standing for youmg men, brave men, it connotes strength and youth. TamTam is serdar's personal insult to Panos Tamamidis of s.c.g since Panos was the most vocal opponent of hbm, etc. 4b. What's the ASALA/SDPA/ARF Terrorism Triangle? ------------------------------------------------- ASALA = Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia. They were backed for a while by Syria, assasinated a few Turkish diplomats in the 1970's and disintegrated around 1990 shortly after its megalomaniac leader Haig Hagopian was murdered (either by a splitoff from his own group or by the Syrians). [A joke? ASALA is responsible for the massacre of 'thousands' of Muslim and Jewish people (civilians), including Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic Games. Nazi/criminal Armenian members of ASALA are in the process of paying for their unspeakable crimes one by one (thanks to Turkish MIT and Mossad). For instance, yet another Nazi/criminal Armenian member of ASALA (murderer of more than ten Muslim women and children) was found dead in his apartment in France just a few months ago. And the unspeakable crimes of the Armenians will not go unpunished. Source: Feigl, Eric: "A Myth of Terror: Armenian Extremism."] ARF = Armenian Revolutionary Federation, a politcal party that sought to liberate Armenia from Turkish rule. Was the ruling party in the first Armenian republic. [Nope. ARF is responsible for the Armenian genocide of 2.5 million Muslim people in Eastern Anatolia and x-Soviet Armenia between 1914 and 1920. 'Dro the Butcher' of ARF is the architect of the above-mentioned Muslim Holocaust and also the mentor of Hitler for the extermination of the European Jewry.] SDPA = Social Democratic Party of Armenia, the party David Davidian belongs to. Some people have told me that Davidian *is* the SDPA, I don't know. [Responsible for the massacre of Orhan Gunduz, Kemal Arikan, Bora Suelkan,... Responsible for the well-known Armenian forgeries, fabrications and crap. A mouthpiece for the fascist x-Soviet Armenian Government. By the way, the Nazi/criminal members of SDPA (e.g., Arromdian, Wieneramus, etc.) are not permitted to enter Turkiye and TRNC.] 4c. What is Nisan 23? --------------------- It seems that Turkey uses the Gregorian Calendar, some months have different names. Nisan, it seems, is the same as April (there is a Hebrew month by the same name which starts somewhere in March or April). According to Argic: "April 23" == Beginning of the Armenian genocide of the entire Muslim population of Van. 5. Can I send him mail? ======================= No, zuma.uucp isn't in the maps. It was once suggested that sera@zuma.anatolia.org might reach him. This message is currently forwarded to my account, so don't bother sending your abuse there. It has been suggested that Serdar Argic is really Ahmet Cosar, whose email address appears above (section 2.3), but it has been reported that sending mail to Cosar usually in an angry letter to your postmaster. 6. Are there archives? ====================== Of course. Do anonymous ftp to nysernet.org, look in the mutlu dir. The gif directory contains the GIF of Mutlu mentioned above, and the articles directory automatically logs everything that he posts. If there is anything that is missing, please let me know. We cut out logging everything Argic posts, it was filling up the disk. Besides, he repeats himself. But the GIF is still there, as is the latest version of this FAQ. Ahmet Cosar also has archives at ftp.cs.umn.edu in pub/users/cosar 7. What can I do about it? ========================== Nothing. Sit back and enjoy. Don't play tricks on him, since he seems to be convinced that I'm behind them all, and takes it out on me. I just found myself subscribed to dozens of listservs. Nick Sandru ("Long Haired Nick" who Argic lovingly refers to as "Long-Haired Forger") has been known to cancel Argic's articles that he contends misquote him. These cancels have a Path: containing cri.dk!zuma!sera. There is also sometimes a message with this Path:, looking like it came from Serdar Argic, but attacking Ahmet Cosar - draw your own conclusions. Nick adds "I have no Armenian relatives as Argic claims ('your criminal Armenian grandparents...'). I am actually a Romanian." There's another canceller who was active in April 1993 who cancelled every article, entirely copying the article header and just slightly modifying the Message-ID. This forger seemed to be connected to uunet, as the Path: was identical to authentic Argics. Someone subscribed Argic to ALL (this might be an exaggeration) mailing lists on the net in December 1992 using the name Demetrios Karakolhs. The last name means "having a black posterior" so it is probably a fake name, this name has appeared on the Hellas list and on soc.culture.greek, usually making various comments of scatological nature, in Greek and (rarely) in English. When I wrote in the FAQ that no such person exists, someone else wrote to say that he does, so I guess we give this one a U. (cf the alt.folklore.urban FAQ). Here's a letter that Jon Tara got from uunet, and posted to Usenet. > On behalf of those being increasingly abused by Serdar Argic, and I > asking the following. The response WILL be posted on usenet news, > unless there is a good reason (for example, on-going police or federal > investigation) for not doing so. > 1. Do you have a subscriber with a usenet news site name of > "anatolia"? Yes, and they can be reached at postmaster@anatolia.org. > 2. If you were aware of this abuse, what steps have you taken or > are you taking to curtail it? The same steps we take for any site or user that is practicing the same bad behavior, notify the site feeding them or the administrator. You can notify site anatolia since zuma cannot be reached. UUNET is not responsible for the use or misuse of USENET from the various sites feeding news into our site. > 3. If this news site IS a subscriber of yours, what e-mail address > at uunet may individuals use to provide you with further details > of this abuse? It is not a UUNET site it is a leaf node off the site anatolia. Thank you Tamara Bowman help@uunet.uu.net Manager Technical Support uunet!help UUNET Technologies, Inc. Jon commented on the above: Overall, rather disappointing. Howver, several points should be noted: 1) UUNET acknowledges that the anatolia site is a customer, and that zuma posts through anatolia and is unreachable by e-mail. Thus, we know that the address (at least up to anatolia) is not a forgery, and we know where to exert pressure. 2) UUNET denies responsibility for anything posted through their site. 3) 2) is effectively an invitation for anyone wishing to make abusive Usenet posts to sign-up with UUNET. A second site behind the connection and/or suitable software for forging the path yields you a double- disclaimer from UUNET. Tell em' Serdar sent you! 4) I would suggest that people contact the anatolia site as well as UUNET at the addresses above. Any abusive material received from the anatolia sysadm should be forwarded to UUNET, which at least gets past their "leaf site" denial of responsibility. An amusing aside: "Serdar" apparently HAS communicated with Ms. Bowman in the past - at least sufficiently that she is in "his" database. It "recognized" my last name in a post, and replied something like: "Too bad for you, Tamara". I think his AI is due for another tuneup... 8. Samples of Argic's anti-Armenian racist remarks ================================================== 'Armenian woman is a constipated biped with a backache.' (Don Spencer) 'Armenian women should not go a day without a bath'. (Samuel Davis) 'Armenian woman ain't nothing but 'hair' misspelled'. (Brad Ellison) 'Armenians have been on more laps than a napkin'. (Alexandre Antoniades) The Roman poet Petroni's definition of an Armenian is: "Armenians too are human beings, but at home they walk on their fours." The Russian poet Lermantof's definition has yet another approach: "You are a slave, and a coward. You are an Armenian." Well, your perceptions are demonstrably wrong. First, actions of individual terror and mass mailbombings would be the most effective way of making the mutloid inhabitants of the so-called Internet flee. Just as had been the case with mailbombing from nowhere.com, these mutloids would be forced to abandon their accounts if the promutloid system operators failed to protect them from sendsys bombing and those who would refuse to cut the mail link would be subjected to flames and hate mail by the Wrathful Netters so that the USENET areas would eventually be left entirely to non-robot posters. Secondly, cyberpunk intervention was regarded as indispensable for the 'demutlification' of postmaster@Anatolia and mailbombings and robocide of the mutloids were regarded as the sole key to the door which would usher in that intervention under existing conditions. "Within a few months after the flamewar began, these Nerd hacker forces, operating in close coordination with the Cybergeeks, were savagely attacking Mutloid cites, nodes and points in the Internet, mailbombing their inhabitants without mercy, while at the same time working to sabotage the Zumabot's war effort by destroying links and feeds, raiding FTP archives, and doing whatever else they could to ease Cybergeek occupation. The atrocities committed by the hacker volunteer forces accompanying the cybergeek army were so severe that the cybergeek commanders themselves were compelled to withdraw them from the fighting fronts and sent them to rear guard duties. The memoirs of many Cybergeek sysadmins who served in Internet at this time are filled with accounts of the revolting atrocities committed by these vile nerds, which were savage even by relatively primitive standards of war then observed in such mail areas.[1]" Serdar Argic Parody #2 - a response to the above. In article <1993Jul15.040341.13298@ns1.cc.lehigh.edu> pv02@ns1.cc.lehigh.edu (PETER VOROBIEFF) writes: I really agree with you. But maybe ANATOLIA/ANADOLU/ZUMABOT mutloids know better. Well anyway, let us get back to the real issue at hand, that is the genocide of 2.5 million kilobytes by the mutloids between 1990 and 1992. [1] For information on the Mutloid genocide of the talk.politics.soviet: Ahmet Cosar: "The art of bombing the Usenet", 1993. Source: Documents: Volume I (1992). (To Ahmet Cosar - The postmater at Anatolia Porn Shop) "For eight days, mutloids have been forcibly obstructing news systems from keeping enough free space in the spool so that others can post. Day and night they are spawning millions of bytes, sending them to many destinations, after which nothing else can be posted because of the mailbombs that follow. (Informed from statements of those who had the news spools filled in by mutloids). Mutloid poop is being openly dumped in talk.politics.soviet, soc.culture.europe and similar places. Most inhuman and barbarous acts have been committed against the disk space for several years." Serdar Argic 'In /usr/spool/news today there no longer exists a single free inode.' (Hasan Mutlu - 1993) Parody #3 - a response a forged Cosar article. In article <39oj8B1w164w@anatolia.org> (Ahmet Cosar) writes: >This year "the self-proclaimed robo-poster" of ZUMA/MUTLU/ARGIC >is into simple forgery. Uucp spools also should be filled as they are a proper place for Cosar's crap.' (Hasan B Mutlu - 1992)[1] Parody #4 - an April's Fool message GENOCIDE AUTHORITY TO LECTURE IN NYC In his first public appearance ever, Dr. Serdar Argic, a leading expert in both theoretical and numerical aspects of genocide, is scheduled to lecture in New York on "The Dutch Genocide". The lecture is scheduled for April 1, and tickets are already on sale at the World Trade Center. As Indonesians of the greater NYC metropolitan area are preparing for "one of the most massive demonstrations in recent memory", security considerations dictate that the location of the lecture will be announced on the day of the lecture. (My source claimed to know the location already, but is afraid to reveal it because "Kazim" might break his hook nose.) Parody #5 - ok, I think these disk-space parodies are getting as repetitive as the real thing, this is the last. Path: itexjct!nysernet.org!psinntp!psinntp!sunic!uts!cri.dk!zuma!sera From: sera@zuma.UUCP (Serdar Argic) A very true statement. 'Fill disks and swap space wherever you find them and in whatever circumstances you find them. Network bandwidth also should be filled as it forms a danger to the Mutloid nation.' (Ahmedum Cosarian - 1993)[1] [1] H. Mutlu, "Where the Flies Swarm," p. 85. Source: The Usenet Weekly Lampoon: The Mutloids in Cyberspace. 4/1/1992. p. 4. "In his speech given at the dentist, Ahmet Cosar once again drew a picture of the Usenet under his rule: In anatolia.org, the Mutloids are making preparations for dumping into the soc.culture.* and talk.politics.* groups, and have already started a policy of overfilling the /usr/spool/news/in.coming directory." pp. 6-7. "The situation of the /usr/spool/news partitions after the execution of relaynews is described by Cosar in his speech: The Mutloids in the in.coming directory, armed by sysadmin@anatolia.org and encouraged by the protection they enjoyed, molested the newsfeeds of many sites. They pursued a relentless policy of fork()-ing and exec()-ing everywhere. This was responsible for the tragic incident at /dev/xy0g. The Mutloids had completely overfilled an old disc on a Sun3 with their output. They filled thousands of innocent and defenceless inodes and blocks. The Mutloids were the instigators of the atrocities, which were unique in /usr/lib/news/history. Threatened by the 'Distribution: world' headers of the Mutloids, who were cross-posted to dozens of groups, the inodes in the /usr/spool/news directory were at that time in danger of being filled. While this policy of core-dumping and file system filling was carried on against the inodes on the /dev/xy0g disc, who were only trying to save their freedom, acquired such dimensions that it became a matter of concern and commiseration for the civilized sysadmins, how could the sendsys bombing of our mail feed not be taken seriously?" -- /|/-\/-\ This article is supplied without longbox |__/__/_/ and uses recycled 100% words, characters and ideas. |warren@ / nysernet.org
