For most of us the new taxes are a problem. We all have to live within our budgets and these new expenses are causing a serious strain. So let me address this issue first.
First of all is that they are not telling us the whole truth about the amount of money the state is bringing in. We had a surplus when they set up the budget and they have an even larger surplus now. Check out the CAFR report.
Secondly the budget is full of fat and waste. Check out these sites.
And last but not least are those things that the government is doing that it should not be doing. We will address some of these later, but we should remember that the oath of office for our Representatives and Senators includes the obligation to consider freedom first in all things.

Our government is a huge bureaucratic machine. They tell us how we are to take care of ourselves, how we are to live, and how we are to conduct our lives. This is not the job of government. The job of government is to protect us from others, not from ourselves. Freedom is not only the right to try and succeed, but also the right to try and fail. |
