Founded in January, 1995, the Asteria perfrom at Greek and international
events in the Knoxville area and the Southeast. Repertoire includes
folk dances from all of Greece as
well as many modern dances popular in the clubs today. The group is a
University of Tennessee Rec Sports Club and is
composed of University of Tennessee students both from the US and
abroad, as well as members of the Greek community who love the Greek
dances and love to party!
Practice is held every Sunday afternoon at the university. Beginners
are welcome. Practice typically lasts to 5:00 or as long as we last,
whichever comes
first.
