The Cherokees are coming!



On Tuesday August 5th and Wednesday August 6th the James White Fort and the East Tennessee Indian League are inviting young and old to come and relive a day in the life of the Cherokee. Cherokee Indians will be demonstrating blowgun weaponry, tomahawk throwing, and the chores associated
with daily life. There will also be friendship dancing, storytelling, crafts and face painting. Inside the Fort, open hearth cooking will be demonstrated, blacksmithing and spinning will also be offered.
The hours for both days will be from 10am - 2pm.
Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.
The fee will be $2 for all ages.
There is an additional fee for the complete Fort Tour.
Reservations are requested for the Fort Tour and should be made by August 1st.
Funding for this year's Cherokee Heritage Days is provided in part by grants from the Akima Club of Knoxville and The East Tennessee Foundation.
