ONLINE QUIZZES

There will be a combination of proctored and unproctored online quizzes. On most of the laboratory dates when you do not have a real lab, you will have an online quiz. The schedule is shown on the course syllabus and in the chart below. The quiz will not take the full lab period. It will be 20 minutes long. However, you should arrive during the first hour of the laboratory session to insure that you have access to a computer. There are not enough computers for everyone to take the quiz at the same time.

For the proctored quizzes, you will be given the information you need to use the system by your lab instructor. For the unproctored quizzes, you will receive this information by e-mail. Either way, your session will be timed, and close automatically after 20 minutes. A demonstration will be given during the course orientation.

There will normally be 10 multiple choice questions similar to the ones in the chapter quizzes for Online Journey Through Astronomy. You can submit as many answers as you want at a time, within the 20 minute time limit. The system will no longer accept answers after the time has expired. Be sure to enter an anwswer for every question before the time expires. You will have only one chance to answer each question, so think before entering the answer. Changes are not permitted once an answer is submitted.
