Fox Glacier guided walk

[JPEG IMAGE] Guided glacier walks are offered on both the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers. This walk is on the Fox Glacier, which is somewhat less accessible. Just getting to the ice requires a lot of climbing on trecherous slopes and a number of tricky stream crossings, which are more difficult during heavy rains such as had been experienced during my visit. (Dec. 27, 1995)
