up Up: The Wet West Coast

[JPEG IMAGE] Helicopter rides provide an exellent, if somewhat expensive, way to see the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers. This flight up the Fox glacier was supposed to land on top, but a safe landing spot could not be found. Helicopter flights are often cancelled due to the west coast's notoriously bad weather. This was one the first flights in weeks. (Dec. 29, 1995)
