Waimangu Cauldron

The Waimangu Cauldron is thought to be a likely site for a major volcanic eruption in the near future. The entire landscape was modified greatly by an eruption in the not-too-distant past, which destroyed a major tourist attraction, the Pink and White Terraces. The world's largest geyser was once nearby. (Jan. 15, 1996)
