Rafting, Kaituna River, Okere Falls

[JPEG IMAGE] This is a picture of our raft running the 23 foot high Okere Falls on the Kaituna River near Rotorua on the north island of New Zealand. A moment later, we were upside down and swimming. The guides claimed this is the highest commercially run drop in the world. Each boat had a guide in the front and one in the back. I was in the front right corner. (Jan. 16, 1996)
