- Gorak Shep
- Gorak Shep is the highest village on the Everest Trek, at 17,000 feet. The 18,500 foot hill Kala Pattar, beyond the dry lake, is the high point of this trek. The snow-covered Pumori rises in the distance. (11/6/94)

- Machhermo by moonlight
- This is a night view of Machhermo, on the route to Gokyo. A light dusting of snow shines brightly in the moonlight under a clear, starry sky. I stayed in the lodge in the foreground. (11/11/94)
