Rwenzori Mountain Central Circuit

The Rwenzori Central Circuit in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountain National Park is one of the world's premier mountain treks, encompassing an incredible variety of landscapes and flora. It is not an easy trek by any means, and a good degree of fitness and preparation for possibly harsh mountain conditions is essential. Come along with Hot Ice Safaris to see what you will experience.

- Ibanda park headquarters to Nyabitaba Hut
- Day Two
- Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut
- Day Three
- John Matte Hut, across Bigo Bog to Bujuku Hut
- Day Four
- Bujuku Hut, across Scott-Elliot Pass to Kitandara Hut
- Day Five
- Kitandara Hut, across Freshfield Pass to Guy Yeoman Hut
- Day Six
- Steep descent to Nyabitaba Hut, return to Ibanda
The basic itinerary shown here can be extended to allow for peak climbs for those with suitible interest and preparation. Some equipment can be obtained from Rwenzori Mountaineering Services if needed.
The standard itinerary includes seven days. Often the last two days of the descent can be combined into a single stage, as shown here. However, you may find that you need to stop at Nyabitaba Hut on the last day, finishing a day later.
