- Buffalo
- This is the largest herd of buffalo we encounteredn in Queen Elizabeth Park, or anywhere else on my trip. Buffalo can be quite dangerous. When tracking gorillas, the guides carried rifles for protection, in case we encountered any.

- Warthog
- Warthogs seemed to be the most active animals, always running quickly whenever we encountered any. This one stayed put long enough to get a picture of its ugly face. The warthogs usually travelled in groups.

- Chimps on Chimp Island
- Chimp Island in Queen Elizabeth National Park is used as a home for chimpanzees who were orphaned by poachers. Boats take visitors to a platform near the island where they can view the chimps as they come down to be fed. There are no other animals on the island. Chimps can bee seen in a more natural environment at Kabale Forest, but that requires some luck.
