- On the way down from the peak, we had to climb back up the steep icy hill we descended earlier. Here, Joel is seen ahead of me near the top of the hill, with an interesting ice formation in the background, toward Alexandra Peak.

- Kitandara Lake
- After climbing Margherita, we descended to Kitandara Hut, on the shore of one of the Kitandara Lakes, seen here from above through some giant groundsel trees common in the Rwenzories. It was a lush and beautiful spot, but cold, at over 13,000 feet elevation.

- Freshfield Pass
- The steep climb to Freshfield Pass begins just behind Kitandara Hut. It is one of the more difficult climbs of the circuit, but the views at the top are spectacular. Lobelia grow in the foreground, and Mt. Luigi di Savoia is seen in the distance.

- Mubuku Valley
- After descending from Freshfield Pass, the route crosses the boggy Mubuku valley on the way to Guy Yeoman Camp. This is an afternoon view back toward the peaks, which are now in clouds.
