Elena Hut

My staff is gathered in front of Elena Hut, the highest camp on Mt. Stanley. Only my guide Joel, on the left, and my cook Richard, to his left, would stay with me here. The other porters went back to Bujuku Hut for the night, because they were not prepared for the cold conditions, which never went above freezing. (2/12/97)
