Porter en Route to Camp Machame

[JPEG IMAGE] The porters at Kilimanjaro normally carry loads on their heads in baskets or bags. This is a popular way of carrying things in Africa, and I was always seeing women with things on their heads. It is supposed to be a very efficient way of carrying a load, but requires a lot of practice. (2/24/97)
